    The bad ain’t all bad

Life isn’t always butterflies and sunshine and beautiful candle smell. It’s full of rot and rust and hurt sometimes. When the hurt is all you can focus on it’s time to find your way back to what you love. that can be a person, hobby, or show. Whatever it is it’s time to find what you love again. Sometimes just listening to some good music can change the state of mind you’ve been in. deleting apps can help for a while too. You don’t have to stay stuck where you’re at. “But what about money?” “What about my circumstance?” You will not be stuck forever. Money isn’t a ruler over…

    Hot girl summer

It’s beginning to be summer time. What does summer time mean? It means warmer weather and less clothing. Less clothing as in shorts and tanks and swim suits. What does that mean? It means people are going to start fad diets and looking at others with envious eyes. Usually envy and jealousy come at weird moments. You don’t want to be envious. You don’t want to be comparing yourself to others. Sometimes it just happens. For me I put a lot of my identity in my pant size. I was the skinny girl for a long time. Not size zero skinny but skinny. when I gained weight my first year…

    Fighting the dark

The light isn’t something that can be seen all the time. Sometimes there’s darkness like when day turns to night. The same thing happens in our lives. We have times where things work out wonderfully and some days when things are so messed up we want to sleep forever. It’s natural and human to feel bad and sad when poop hits the fan. I hated it growing up and to this day when I would be sad and people would tell me I shouldn’t be and I should focus on the good. Which I agree with focusing on the good but invalidating people like that will not help them feel…

    A pretty picture

At a worship night the other day someone had a picture God gave them. It was about a puzzle. Sometimes you put together a puzzle and you have the box so you know what the puzzle will look like in the end. But God is taking the puzzle with the picture you know and he’s moving it around. He is the only one who knows what the end picture will be. I asked God what he said my picture looks like for my puzzle. I saw some trees with mountains in the back with beautiful colors in the sky. God said the mountains were the trials I faced. It made…

    What time is it?

For many of us, set backs have held doors closed in our lives. Illness, poverty, exhaustion, busyness are all things that hold us back from accomplishments. Sometimes it feels easier to just let the bad things hold us back and let it fuel our anger or grief. Holding on to it doesn’t make you feel any better. A lot of the time it brings you down. Some days go faster and some years too. But what about the things you want to do? What about the paintings? The small business? The dates you could have gone on and education you could have pursued? Some things require you to wait. But…

    Let’s do this

Lately I’ve felt defeated but I’ve also felt very connected. To what? You may ask. Good question.  I’ve felt connected to God. He’s told me to do things and I’ve done them. Pray on your stories.  Say these things to my daughters.  These are *easy* things to do since I just have to type it or make a video on my phone. I can do that.  Going in person and praying for someone is harder. The hard part is asking them if you can pray for them.  What is it that’s hard? It’s not the actual prayer. It’s the first word. It’s the “hey can I pray for you?” The…

    Living life your WAY

Do you find yourself comparing your life to the people around you? Your brothers, sisters, friends and strangers are achieving their dreams. It feels like you aren’t achieving yours and it seems like they have the perfect body and have their lives figured out. That’s not True!! Comparing your life to others is going to break your heart and your faith. We are all different. We have different beliefs, different families and different personalities. You are not going to feel fulfilled doing what your brother does. Your life is different. Your passions and talents are different. You can achieve good things without doing what everyone else does. Maybe you want…

    Taste & See

“Taste and see that the Lord is GOOD!” Psalm 34:8. There have been days the past few months that you could say “I’m not tasting anything! NOTHING is good!” That is valid. If you’ve felt that way recently, you are valid. Crappy things happen a lot in life. It can be hard to see the good. Especially with an “invisible” God, it can be hard to “see” the good in moments of trouble. If God is invisible what am I supposed to be tasting? I say invisible because it can be hard to see God. He doesn’t talk to us in a physical body or a statue but he’s there.…

    Enough

In movies you see the characters go through situations and have breakdowns but do they portray them in real ways? Would you really even want to see that? Some days you just break and you have enough. Enough of this life, this situation, This problem. How do you get out of that mindset? You are enough and that will help you get out of that hole. Maybe you’ve had enough or you don’t feel like you’re enough. Which ever it is you can get through it. You will be okay. It’ll be okay. I’ve been through the ringer. I know what it feels like to lose hope and feel empty.…

    Tylenol for the heartache

Growing up my mom gave me Tylenol for everything. My head hurt? Tylenol. My knee hurt? Tylenol. Everything was fixed with Tylenol. Are there places in your life where you wish you could just take Tylenol to rid yourself of the pain for a little while? The last few days I’ve felt a lot of emotion. A lot of hurt, fear and sadness. So I thought, as I was up at 3 am crying, “I wish I could take Tylenol to make my heartache go away.” There are tools to use to make heartache fade. The type of heartache I’m talking about is a deep, deep sadness. The type you…
