The significantly small amount
Do you ever feel like you have nothing to give? Are your hands empty? Has all your energy been used up? God is no stranger to taking little and making a lot. The Gospel of John states that Jesus took 2 fish and 5 loaves of bread to feed 5,000 people. This was from a kids lunch box. He gave Jesus all he had and he multiplied more than he could have imagined. As humans it’s easy to get caught up in the day to day stresses and worries. What will I eat? How will I pay for my rent? Will there be a bus that can take me to…

Peace
“Peace bring it all to peace,” the lyrics from Mosaic MSC’s Tremble are a godsend for this crazy time. God will provide. God has “Praise the name of God forever and ever . . . He controls the course of world events; he removes kings and sets up other kings” Daniel 2:20-21). (Not stating this as a political belief of mine) God knows what he is doing. He doesn’t allow kings or presidents to be brought into power without his knowledge. The Lord will protect us. He loves his children. He hates to see the brokenness that has already come out before the election. God cries when innocent men die…

Qualified?
Do you ever feel like you don’t know enough, or that you don’t have the experience to get something? Do you ever feel like you are qualified enough for something and get dismissed? I feel ya. I get ya. When it comes to God and what he’s telling you to do, you may never feel qualified but God never checks certification. He just says, “Go.” It’s easy to think of Moses and all the wonders that he was a part of. But don’t you remember? He was a murderer, and had a speech impediment. God doesn’t look at the outside but he looks at the heart. God doesn’t see us…

Getting your fill
Living in a COVID filled world we deal with loneliness often. Whether you work somewhere where you interact with people or you work by yourself, it can be pretty lonely. We have six feet between us. Some go by these guidelines and some don’t. But there is some sort of disconnect here. The best moments of this “quarantine” are the ones where you can see your loved ones. Sometimes it’s by facetime and sometimes it’s face to face. It’s so special to see them and get filled up. Even introverts need their fill of affection and attention. Being by yourself is hard. But the good news is you don’t have…

To befriend an enemy
Who would do just a thing? To befriend an enemy? Like this enemy is quite cleaver. He will tell you that believing in what he’s saying will keep you safe and alive and well off. Know who i am talking about yet? Here are some more clues. He’ll tell you to play safe and not to jump, not moving is better than to risk it for the biscuit. Still don’t know who I am talking about then there are two options here: 1. you don’t have this in your life at all. 2. or that you have this and believe a lie that this enemy has already told you. The…

Your choice matters
Every choice you make is an opportunity. When it comes to your happiness and wellbeing your choice matters. You can choose to believe that you are a failure, that you’re no good, that you can’t do anything right. Or you can choose to believe that you are successful, that you are more than your bad choices, or that you are trying your best. When we choose to believe the lies of the enemy that tear us down we are giving him footholds into our lives. Letting insecurity, worthlessness, or pain steal the powerful and loving words Jesus has given us allows for brokenness to rob your joy. You have to…

Love, love, love
Everyone needs love. It’s true that love makes the world go around. Kids who are neglected struggle when they are older, just like animals and adults in relationships where love is not present. Love is important. And guess what? Jesus said the greatest commandment is to love God and love others. It’s what we’ve been called to do on this earth! Secular love can be draining because that kind of love can be self-seeking (it isn’t always but it can be). A self seeking and self fulfilling love is not sustainable. There is a God shaped hole in everyone’s hearts and if you try to fill it with anything other…

In it to win it
Some days are extremely hard to get going and get productive. Some days you feel like a failure or like you’re not doing enough. Some days it’s okay to rest and take a mental health day. Those are the types of days where you can feel guilt free indulging in self care acts. Whether it’s taking a nice bath, playing your favorite video game or folding laundry while watching your favorite show in bed (yes folding laundry or doing something productive and helpful for your life is still self care). But some days you can’t afford to have a rest day. Some days you have to get your sh*t together…

A time for change
When quarantine was first starting people were up for a change. You saw Youtube phenomena like Chloe Ting become sensations for their 2 week exercise programs. Then routine set in again and the thought of change sounded scary. It’s really easy to look at the negative side of change. It feels like our brains are hardwired to find the fault in things. Change doesn’t have to bring a hitch to your breath. Change can be good. Choosing to eat an apple instead of a candy bar or putting your clothes in the hamper instead of on the floor. Those are small choices, ones that seem so small that they are…

Oh free or not to be?
In these trying times we feel often trapped and want to put our faith in things that won’t help us. These are things that leave you stagnant, unmoving, unwilling to grow. That’s why we have to choose what voice we listen to, the Father’s or the voice of the enemy. The enemy loves to make you feel trapped. He loves when you are broken and weak and unable to move. So when we can focus in on what God is telling us He will help us move. God often times doesn’t tell us the grand scheme of our life but tells us little segments. He’ll say move here, do this,…
